K-pop all-star group SuperM makes its debut with a series of firsts. Today, the band released its first EP, The 1st Mini Album ‘SuperM.’ AvailableHERE, the five-song collection comes on the heels of last night’s global livestream of the band’s Q & A session at Capitol Studios and the premiere of their first single and video, “Jopping.” View the video HERE.
Tomorrow, the seven members of SuperM will take over Hollywood and perform live together for the very first time. The free concert will be the culmination of a full day of K-Pop via the SuperM Village, presented by Capitol Records outside its landmark Tower headquarters. Vine Street will be shut down to vehicles for the mega-event. The SuperM village opens at 2:00 P.M. and features photo opps, pop-up shops, food trucks and more. SuperM will perform at 7:00 PM. SuperM will make its television debut on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” next Wednesday, October 9th.
Tickets go on sale tomorrow at 10am local time at SuperMofficial.com for the band’s first series of live shows – SuperM WE ARE THE FUTURE LIVE. The headline run will include performances at New York City’s Madison Square Garden (November 19th, 2019) and at The Forum in Los Angeles (February 1st, 2020). See below for itinerary. Drawn from some of the most popular K-pop acts in the world, SuperM’s seven members are Taemin from SHINee, EXO’s Baekhyun and Kai, NCT 127’s Taeyong and Mark, and Ten and Lucas of Chinese band WayV. Korea’s largest entertainment company, SM Entertainment, has partnered with Capitol Music Group (CMG) and Caroline to introduce SuperM.
Billboard hailed the band as “K-POP’S AVENGERS” in this story for “The Sound,” and noted, “SuperM already has debuted on Billboard’s Artist 100 chart without releasing a stitch of music.” The band also appeared on the Social 50 and Emerging Artists charts prior to the EP’s release.
